Imtra sees PowerLED sales growth

By IBI Magazine

Imtra, a US manufacturer and importer of marine products, has announced that sales of its PowerLED lights continue to grow despite the downturn in the leisure marine market. According to a company statement, Imtra's LED sales have increased 28 per cent over 2008 and more than 200 per cent over 2007, for the same fiscal year period.

"Our marine PowerLED sales are defying all expectations and experiencing dramatic growth despite a decline in the market's boatbuilding and aftermarket product sales," says Imtra president Nat Bishop. "Consumers recognise that LEDs are more energy efficient, create less excess heat and reduce their carbon footprint. We believe our increased LED sales are a result of boaters' desire for better lighting solutions, greater long-term value and minimised environmental impact."

Based in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Imtra is an importer and manufacturer of consumer marine products, advanced LED solutions and integrated marine systems, as well as a key supplier to the OEM and aftermarket. The company has sales and support teams in 11 regions throughout North America.
